Coaching Tip for Managers of People Leaders

Are you leading a team of managers who may struggle with confidence or lack clarity in leading their teams effectively? It's a common challenge, but here's a strategy to foster their growth and empower them to excel:

Instead of simply offering advice, pivot to coaching. When they come to you with questions like "What should I do about X?" or shy away from tackling certain issues altogether, encourage them to explore their own solutions. Ask probing questions to guide their thinking on how they could handle the situation. Then, collaborate on refining their approach and messaging.

Lastly, encourage them to role-play the conversation with you. Provide a safe space for them to practice implementing their strategies. Through role-playing, they can refine their communication skills, decision-making processes, and overall leadership approach in a supportive environment.

By adopting this coaching approach, you're not just providing answers – you're fostering confidence, competence, and a deeper understanding of effective leadership. Let's empower our managers to lead with clarity, empathy, and conviction!
