Thrive in 2025: Wrapping the Year in Gratitude and Time Well Spent

Congratulations!  You survived another holiday season and it’s almost time to wrap up another busy year.  Let’s do it this year with a big shiny red bow of gratitude.

Gratitude is the best building block for attitude.  Focusing on what we have instead of what we don’t have helps strengthen our mental fitness and fills our hearts with joy which wards off anxiety and depression.

My greatest gift this year came from my son.  He gave me a book, “Letters to My Mom.”   The writing prompt for today’s letter is “The best adventure we’ve had together was…”  He wrote about the exact adventure I thought of…our trip to Oregon when he was a teenager.  The highlights of his memories were starting a fire in the hotel microwave because he forgot to add water to the mac and cheese bowl, feeling elevation sickness after climbing Multnomah Falls, visiting the OSU Campus, seeing the seals in Astoria, and exploring the tunnels of the Shanghai Bar in Portland. He ended by saying he is grateful to have so many experiences to write about in his letters.

This book is truly a reflection of the many things I am grateful for and it’s a reflection of what I value most in life.  Time.  Time spent with the ones I love.  So, as I navigate what I want to accomplish in 2025…it has to include making the best use of time and making decisions that align with that.

Make a plan to practice gratitude daily and focus on giving yourself the gift of time to help, YOU, Thrive in 2025!

In tomorrow’s article, I’ll share a new focus to help you Thrive in 2025. “Do less, REALLY well!”
